Some of the things in this challenge are things I’ve written on already, and day 17 is a prime example. The post I wrote previously though, Beautiful Contradictions was very specific to sun signs and all of that. This one I’m going to make a little more general.
Day 17: Write About your Zodiac Sign and Whether or not it fits You.
I’m a virgo. That’s pretty plain to anyone who knows me and knows about the zodiac. I’m a perfectionist, I’m organized, and I’m an introvert. I come across upon initial meeting as an absolute bitch. I even have the infamous resting bitch face – meaning I always look pissed off. When I’m being particularly picky or bitchy Sophia has been known to clear her throat and say, “eh. . . You’re Virgo is showing, Amber.”
But I’m really really fucking glad to be a virgo most days.
I have a knack for detail which has gotten me far. I can spot a con a mile away. Common sense is my religion. I can’t stand clutter and disorganization, and abhor being late.
So yeah, I think the classic Virgo personality traits fit me.
That being said – I also take astrology with a grain of salt. I read my horoscope almost daily, and sometimes its surprisingly accurate, and sometimes not. The same goes with the personality traits. I have periods of laziness and unorginization; bouts of forgetfulness and lack of give a fuck; I have had my share of lapses in judgement, as well. I also am not as characteristically judgemental as the standard Virgo trait list suggests, and I tend to refer to myself as a procrastinating perfectionist – I have been known to wait until the very last minute to make everything perfect as opposed to planning everything out and making everything right in a time efficient manner.
I’ve struggled writing this because I have already written on the topic, but in order to move onto the next subject I needed to finish it. So I’m going to leave this here with my take on the topic – don’t let your Star sign rule your life. Don’t blame your shortcomings or even give all the credit for your wonderfulness to your astrological sign. Its not because you’re a virgo, or a pisces or a leo. . . It’s because you’re you. And whether there are improvements to be made or someone is giving you praise for something great you’ve done, it’s because of you. Not the stars.
